On July 20th Neil Armstrong and Edwin “Buzz” Aldrin become the first andsecond people, respectively, to land on the Moon. This success was part of the Apollo 11mission, which was the first manned mission to land on the moon. Michael Collins wasthe Command Module Pilot for this mission while Armstrong was the Commander, and Aldrin the Lunar Module Pilot. Neil Armstrong, Edwin E. Aldrin Jr. and Michael Collins are each awarded the Cullum Geographical Medal.
