Student Opportunities

The American Geographical Society (AGS) provides opportunities for students to be more involved in geo-related activities.

For high school students who have taken AP® Human Geography course, scoring a 3, 4, or 5 on the exam can become a AGS Junior Service Fellow (AGS JSF).

For undergraduate and graduate students from accredited colleges and universities who have maintained a grade point average of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale, can apply for the AGS Scholar Internship Program. This program takes place during the Spring, Fall and Summer school terms of each year.

Students can also earn GeoBages which is an initiative that enables individuals and organizations to work together to advance their geography awareness by engaging in practical, real world projects and skill building.
