Episode One: Mapping in the Time of COVID-19

April 7, 2020

AGS President Dr. Marie Price, AGS Chairman Dr. Christopher Tucker, and AGS Councilor Dr. Joshua Campbell join AGS’s Katherine Cann to discuss the role of geospatial tools and technology during the COVID-19 pandemic. Geographers and geospatial analysts have mobilized to visualize the spread of the disease in real time, for the first time in history. The group discusses five of the most impactful geospatial tools and data collection methods we’ve been seeing in the media: dashboards, satellite imagery, telemetry data, the internet of things, and crowdsourcing.
