Calvin O. Masilela

Dr. Masilela is a Professor in the Department of Geography and Regional Planning and Director of the Regional Planning Program and Director of theTrio Programs at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Masilela has made countless contributions to geographic knowledge and scholarship in the form of articles, books, book chapters, conference presentations, and invited lectures. He is the recipient of multiple awards and honors including Who’s Who in America the 56th and 58th editions, the 2008 Distinguished Faculty Service Award for his work with the Trio Programs, the 2008 Graduate Dean’s Award for Outstanding Commitment to Sponsored Programs, and the College of Humanities and Social Sciences 2018 Outstanding Research award. He is a member of the American Planning Association, Pennsylvania Planning Association, Association of American Geographers, Council for Educational Opportunity, and the Mid-Eastern Association of Educational.
